Last year was a very busy and productive year for TraxStar, and we expect much more in 2006. In 2005, we welcomed significant, marquee customers to our family, including Cisco, EST Testing Solutions, Motorola Automotive and Panduit. We met many of you at the IEEE EMC Symposium in August, where we shared the results of our survey on the test lab metrics and their growing importance in day-to-day operations, management and customer support. We have been working diligently on product improvements. As reported in our last newsletter, our development team has been focused on Auto-Scheduling. Auto-Scheduling represents a sea change in ease of scheduling and rescheduling by assigning specific resources to the test plan. Automatically. Just pick the start date! We are looking forward to productive and lasting partnerships with you all in 2006!   Test Lab Metrics User Group The goal of the Metrics User Group is to foster a collaborative forum among colleagues in the Test Lab world. With more and more managers and customers asking for objective measurements, having ready access to meaningful lab metrics is at the top of many “to do” lists. The Metrics User Group meeting at IEEE provided a tremendous starting point. Together we can demystify lab operations and better explain lab performance. We are now planning the next meeting which we intend to conduct in an on-line environment. The goal of the meeting will be to identify and define specific metrics and appropriate benchmarks for use in the lab. We will be contacting all of the past participants in the next few weeks. Volume 3, Number 5   Auto-Scheduling Preview Many of our customers have been providing valuable insight and requests for functionality to be incorporated into our QATrax version 4.0 Auto-Scheduling release. This feedback is being incorporated into QATrax, making it a stronger product. Auto-Scheduling provides a significant edge in the dynamic and complex product development world. QATrax will help minimize the disruptions and time spent in accommodating schedule changes and the downstream “ripples” they cause. QATrax 4.0 provides the ability to automatically move the test plan start date, re-shuffle the resource assignments and update scheduled completion dates. Assigning specific resources provides a reliable picture of the timing. Slippages are easier to document and visible. And Re-Scheduling is a breeze! As usual, existing customers will be automatically upgraded as part of the support program.
